Responsibilities and Institutional Powers of the Chamber of Commerce Aruba

The Aruba Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in fulfilling its mandate, reports to the Minister of Economic Affairs and provides information and advice of a social, financial, and economic nature in the general interest of commerce and industry. The Aruba Chamber may also, on its own initiative, offer such advice and submit proposals or recommendations to the Minister of Economic Affairs.

In addition, the Aruba Chamber carries out advisory functions through its representation in advisory councils, governing boards of foundations, and other organizations dedicated to directly or indirectly promoting the interests of the business community in the broadest sense.

The Aruba Chamber is the officially designated advisory body to the Minister of Economic Affairs on all applications for permits under the Business License Ordinance.

Beyond its advisory role, the Aruba Chamber is legally entrusted with administering and supervising the Registry.

Furthermore, the Aruba Chamber is responsible for maintaining a public record of the annual financial statements of limited liability companies (Dutch: naamloze vennootschap) incorporated in Aruba, as required by the Commercial Code. These companies must file complete copies of their financial statements with the office of the Commercial Register.
