Annual Election of Board Members
Eligibility for Board Positions
Candidates for a board position must meet the following requirements:
- Be at least 25 years of age in the year of the election.
- Possess Dutch nationality.
- Have been a resident of Aruba for at least two consecutive years immediately preceding their candidacy.
Board members are elected for a three-year term. Each year, three members retire by rotation but are immediately eligible for re-election. Members may also resign at any time, in which case by-elections must be held.
Eligibility for Voters
Entrepreneurs are eligible to vote if they:
- Reside in Aruba.
- Possess Dutch nationality.
- Are registered in the Trade Register as an owner, partner, director, or general proxy for at least one (1) year prior to the compilation date of the voters’ list.
Election Process
The election process is overseen by the Election Committee. The rules and requirements regarding the voters’ list, candidacy, and ballot casting are established in the Election Ordinance of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce – Kiesverordening Kamer van Koophandel en Nijverheid (AB 1993 no.
