Origin & Objectives

The origin and objectives of the Chamber of Commerce Aruba

On November 11, 1929 a group of approximately 30 entrepreneurs signed a petition to the Lieutenant Governor of Aruba to institute an organization to represent their interests. This petition led to the formation of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce by government decree issued on September 8, 1930. The Chamber was officially assigned as "the representative body of trade and industry in Aruba".

The objectives of the Chamber are:

bullet

to represent and to promote the interests of the Aruban business community;

bullet

to provide - solicited and unsolicited - advice and information to the Minister of Economic Affairs on matter concerning trade and industry;

bullet

to provide services and trade information to the Aruban and international community that contribute to the promotion of business activity and economic development of Aruba;

bullet

to provide support and advice to (starting) entrepreneurs;

bullet

to actively promote the attraction of (potential) investors.
