Board Member Election 2009
The Board of the Aruba Chamber consists of 9 members, of whom 5 members represent businesses with an invested capital of 100,000 florins or more, and 4 members  represent small businesses. The members take seat for three years. Yearly three members resign by rotation and are re-eligible at once. (Landsverordening op de Kamer van Koophandel en Nijverheid (AB1990 no GT 29))

The board's task is to represent the interest of commerce and industry in general, bringing forward its opinion in a serious and objective manner, based on professional analysis and concrete data and to determine the Chamber's view.

Registered entrepreneurs, residing in Aruba, who have the Dutch nationality and appear in the Trade Register as owner, partner, director, or general proxy for at least one year prior to the compiling of the voter's list, are entitled to vote.


Prospective members should be at least 25 years of age and must reside in Aruba for at least two years prior to their candidacy. Candidacy must be endorsed by at least 15 persons who have voting rights.

The Election committee, appointed by the Minister of Economic Affairs, is responsible of the election process.

The rules and requirements for the election  process, e.g. voter's lists, candidacy and ballot casting, are stipulated in the election ordinance of the Aruba Chamber of Commerce.(

The Election committee draws up official reports (proces-verbaal-1, process-verbaal-2) of all its decisions.

Requirements
- Voting only in person (no proxy)
- Valid ID (passport, drivers license, ID card (cedula di identidad)
- Ballot registration (if lost a duplicate can be issued prior to ballot casting)

Only voters are permitted to observe ballot casting and counting.
